Ian McFadyen (Chair)

Ian is a social entrepreneur, focussing on improving the sustainable delivery of educational content, connectivity and power in rural and under-served areas, predominantly in Zambia, where he was raised. Ian is an enthusiastic supporter of African education and conservation projects and divides his time between homes in the UK and Zambia. Ian sits on several company Boards and is a Trustee of a number of other charities.

Rosie Rafferty

Rosie left her role as Vice President of Strategy and Planning for the External Affairs function at a large multinational company to pursue her passion of helping to tackle poverty through education. In her former role, she was responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a global reputation strategy and for advising and supporting the CEO and Chairman. As a former Head of Crisis Management, she was responsible for developing a best practice approach to crisis planning and response across 128 countries. In her role as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for the downstream business she was involved in the development and implementation of local, country and global programmes aimed at driving up access to energy, supporting local enterprise and STEM programmes. She has worked all over the world including South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal and was brought up in Malawi. Rosie is a mentor to young businesswomen, a Trustee of the Nick Jenkins Foundation, and sits on the Advisory Board of not for profit Malaika, which supports a school and community in the Democratic Republic of Congo.


Graham R Woodford

Graham is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. After developing a sizable regional office for a UK top ten firm of Chartered Accountants from a standing start he moved on to set up his own Business and Tax consultancy , whilst also becoming involved in a number of local social organisations and Trustee of a number of Charities. With all round financial awareness, good interpersonal skills and a passion for delivery of requirements, he is able to bring together the various aspects of any organisation to ensure good governance and control essential for success.
